Nicholas Hook was Toastmaster at his son's, Ben's, wedding.

Many weeks before the event, he informed me of the day's arrangements and that Ben had asked me to read a suitable poem during the ceremony. This was most helpful as it gave me an opportunity to familiarise myself with the text, thus giving it more significance to the happy couple. Nicholas kept in close touch with me in the immediate weeks before the event which, on the day, proved valuable time invested in the organisation of all the facets of the occasion. Even with unreliable weather, he gave all present clear instructions as to where the guests were to assemble, givng us all plenty of time to adjust to each phase of the day.

His strong clear voice left us in no doubt as to who was in charge. He positioned himself correctly using helpful gesticulations to clarify his intensions.
